Frequently Asked Questions

What’s your shooting style?

Take a moment and look around my site! The moments captured and shown on my site are a great representation of my style as a photographer! My approach to photographing any wedding is to capture all moments of love and fun that happens on your wedding day. I photograph a mix of modern-traditional guided portraits with fun, natural, in the moment candids!
It's really the best of both worlds!
I do everything I can to make the experience fun, relaxed, and pressure-free. While you are enjoying the moments of your big day, I’ll be snapping away freely, capturing the laughter, love, and pure joy of your wedding day! How cool is that!!!

Do you Photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?

YES! I photograph all love stories!

How long have you been a photographer?

I have been a photographer since 2009.
I specialize in wedding, Engagement and boudoir photography because I just adore everything about these types of photography. I also love to eat wedding cake!

How many images will we receive?

I don't limit myself to a number. The bigger the family and the more wedding day events and things you do the more photos you will have! I tell the story; it’s about the moments not the number of images!
BUT.... If you must have a number I average about 100 edited photos per hour! WOW, that's a lot!

Do you charge a travel fee?

Some locations do require a travel fee. Travel fees are applied to locations that I would need to stay overnight because driving in the mountains at night is not my favorite and I want to be safe!

Travel fees range from $200-$800 depending on location and time of year :)

Where are you based?

I am based in Denver, Colorado! I have a private studio in Lakewood and live in the Thornton Area!

Do you do Video?

No, but I do work with an amazing crew that does do video! Check out their site: www.fimbrescreative.com for their current pricing info!

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I have full business liability insurance and can provide a copy of my certificate to your venue upon their request!

Should I do an engagement session?

Yes, you should!
We will get to have pre-wedding photo fun with this session! I also use engagement sessions to get to know the chemistry between you two and which poses work with you and your significant other! I go to many different locations from downtown locations, waterfalls, and gorgeous mountain views! I can help you plan the most wonderful engagement session that reflects the two of you and your own styles! Sessions are done around sunset for the best lighting of the day!

What if I don't want or need an Engagement Session that is included on my package?

All of my wedding photography packages include an engagement session for a reason, I want and need to get to know you before the big day! It helps on your wedding day to have things go smoothly and effortlessly since we will already know what poses do and do not work for you and your vibe as a couple! If you choose to not have an engagement session, that is completely up to you, but it does not change the cost of the package.

What if you have not been to my venue?

Chances are I have been to your venue before! I have photographed over 600 weddings! I have been to almost every type of location! I got you!

If I have not been to your location and you would like to meet up there prior to your event we can set up an Onsite Photography Consultation they are $100 within 1 hour of 80602. We will go over photo locations at the venue with your coordinator if they are available as well as your timeline if you wish. The reason there is a fee for this is that photography is my main job and I need to provide childcare for my children while I am at work. Thank you for understanding.

PSA: Photography Session Permits & Fees

Some photo locations require a photography permit to have professional photos taken there. Each county in the state of Colorado has different rules and regulations for commercial photography and different permits needed.
If the location you are wanting for your session requires a photography permit I can obtain the permit for your session and you will be billed accordingly. If you have questions about a location you are thinking about please let me know and I can check to see what is needed!

Steps of the booking process:

Once you decide you want to be one of my couples we will set up an in-person meeting at my studio in Lakewood or a phone meeting to chat further and go over things. I will then email you a contract to look over. Once the contract is signed, a deposit of $800 is due and will be applied to your total balance. The full balance is due 1 week prior to your wedding date. You will get a copy of the contract and invoice for your records.

I use Square, Venmo or PayPal friends and family for all my credit card processing!

After the contract is signed and deposit paid we will plan out your engagement session. I get to know you two love birds better and you get to know that quirky lady behind the camera!

About 1-2 months before your wedding date we will plan out your wedding day timeline! We will figure out how you want your day to flow! I will find out if you want to do a first look or keep it more traditional and not see each other until you walk down the aisle? What type of family photos do you want and if you want any getting ready photos! things like that. Each couple has a vision and I want to help you create it.
I can help you plan all that out so your big day goes according to plan and you are stress-free!

We will also go over a family photo list! This list a basic word document that I will email you to edit accordingly! Each family is different and I want to make sure I get all the family photo combinations you two could possibly want! I will also make sure the family photo time we have set aside is done in a timely manner on the big day! No one wants to stand around forever taking pictures, you want to have fun, get on the dance floor and have a few drinks! That is where this wonderful list comes in handy!

When & how will we receive our wedding photos?

After your wedding I edit each and every photo in my signature classic & timeless photo style you see on my site before posting the final images into your private online gallery. All images are watermark free and you will also receive a print release when you download them and on your USB drive I mail to you. You can also share the gallery with all your friends and family! After your wedding day, I know that the next biggest question on your mind will be: “When do we get to see our photos?” You will receive your complete wedding gallery in just 8-12 weeks! I know you can’t wait to see your images and I can’t wait to share them with you as well. I promise it will be worth the wait.
The week after the wedding, you will see a sneak peek posted on one of the following, The Pic Chick's Facebook, Instagram & Blog page to get a glimpse into the awesomeness of your big day!
