Maternity Session for Kenzie & Ben
Kenzie and Ben are on the brink of an incredible journey as they prepare to become parents. Their patience and kindness are evident in everything they do, and I believe these qualities are essential to raising a happy and healthy child. It’s truly heartwarming to witness their excitement and commitment to this new chapter in their lives.
For their maternity photoshoot, Kenzie had a brilliant idea to include her beloved horse, JJ. This personal touch not only reflects Kenzie's passion but also adds a unique element to their memories. We planned to head out to the stable where JJ is boarded, choosing a location that meant a lot to Kenzie. It was clear how much she cherishes her bond with the horse, and I was excited to capture that connection through my lens.
When we arrived at the boarding facility, we were greeted by the most beautiful field, adorned with lush grass and trees. Standing prominently in the landscape was a stunningly large oak tree. Its expansive branches filtered the golden hues of the sunset, creating a magical backdrop that was perfect for the shoot. The lighting was soft, warm, and inviting, making it an ideal setting for both timeless and fun photographs.
As we began the session, I started with classic maternity portraits. I wanted to highlight Kenzie’s radiant beauty and the joy of this unique moment in her life. We took our time, moving around the oak tree and capturing different angles, ensuring that each shot conveyed the deep love and anticipation surrounding their growing family.
Once we finished the classic poses, we shifted gears to a more playful approach. Kenzie and Ben's personalities truly shone through in these candid shots. Including JJ in the pictures added a charming twist, showcasing not just the couple but also the important role their horse plays in their lives. Kenzie interacted with JJ, feeding him treats and laughing as he nuzzled her, which created some wonderfully genuine moments.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the field, I captured the essence of their love story. The combination of Kenzie's maternal glow, Ben's supportive presence, and JJ’s spirited energy made for a truly memorable experience.
