Denver Library Love Story


I had an amazing time photographing this couple during their engagement session at the Denver Public Library. As big book lovers, it was essential to incorporate the stunning library into their shoot, and I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for their special moments. The Denver Public Library, with its unique design and vast collection, made for a truly memorable setting.


One of the things that impressed me most was the incredible natural light that flooded the library’s interior. As we wandered through the various spaces, we discovered cozy reading nooks and grand architectural features, all contributing to a charming atmosphere for our photos. The library is not only a hub for knowledge but also a work of art in itself. Completed in 1995 and designed by architect Michael Graves, it draws inspiration from the idea of a modern castle. The mix of brick and colorful tiles gives it a distinctive look, making it a standout landmark in the city.


During the session, the couple brought along some of their favorite books as props, showcasing their personalities and interests. This thoughtful touch added depth to our photos and captured their love for literature. It’s always wonderful when couples share their passions through their engagement sessions, as it makes the images even more personal and meaningful.


After a quick outfit change, we ventured outside to capture more images in the beautiful garden that surrounds the library. The library’s gardens are stunning and featuring native plants and flowers, which bloom vibrantly throughout the year. The area provides a serene escape from the urban setting, making it the perfect spot for romantic photos. With the sun setting, the golden hour produced a magical warm glow, illuminating the couple as they frolicked among the flowers. Their laughter and playful interactions truly reflected their love for one another, and I felt privileged to capture those moments.


As we took pictures, I shared some fun facts about the Denver Public Library with the couple. Did you know that the library has over 1.5 million items in its collection? This includes books, e-books, magazines, DVDs, and more, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, the library offers an extensive array of programs and services, including art exhibits, lectures, and community events, further proving its commitment to enriching the lives of Denver residents.


I also mentioned that the library houses the Denver Story Tree, a unique installation that features whimsical sculptures and storytelling elements designed to connect guests with the joy of reading. There’s even a remarkable collection of historical manuscripts, showcasing the rich literary heritage of Colorado and beyond. One of the most popular sections among visitors is the Children’s Library, which is thoughtfully designed to inspire a love of reading in the younger generation through interactive installations and cozy reading corners.


Throughout the session, it was heartwarming to see how in love this couple is. Their chemistry was palpable, and their shared interests in books and stories created an undeniable bond. As we wrapped up our time in the garden, I knew that these images would not only serve as beautiful reminders of their engagement but would also reflect their personalities and love story.
