Kayla & Preston's Intimate Micro Wedding at Primrose Studio | Fort Collins, Colorado
There is something incredibly special about a wedding where every single person in attendance has played an important role in the couple's story. Kayla and Preston's beautiful micro wedding at Primrose Studio in Fort Collins, Colorado was exactly that a day filled with love, laughter, heartfelt tears, and meaningful moments shared with their closest family and friends.
As a Colorado wedding photographer, I absolutely love intimate celebrations like this because every detail feels intentional, and every moment carries so much emotion.
One of the most beautiful parts of Kayla and Preston's wedding was how they incorporated their blended family into every aspect of the day. Their ceremony wasn't just about two people getting married it was about two families becoming one. The couple chose to keep their décor simple, natural, and deeply personal. Kayla and her sisters & sisters in law, hand-picked the wildflowers that became her bouquet as well as the gorgeous centerpieces for the reception tables. The fresh blooms perfectly complemented the bright, airy atmosphere of Primrose Studio and added such a personal touch that couldn't have been purchased from any florist.
Just before the ceremony, Preston's sisters surprised Kayla with one of the sweetest gifts of the day. They presented her with a vintage ring that had belonged to Preston's grandmother as her "something old." Along with the ring came another unexpected keepsake Preston's baby tooth! While it may sound unusual, it was a little joke that had everyone laughing through happy tears. It was such a perfect reminder that weddings are about celebrating not only love but also the unique stories that make every relationship one of a kind.
If there was one moment that no one will soon forget, it was the ceremony itself. Kayla's 16-year-old son had the honor of officiating the wedding, creating one of the most emotional ceremonies I've ever witnessed. His words were thoughtful, genuine, and filled with so much love for both Kayla and Preston. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an incredible dinner prepared by a private chef. Every course was beautifully presented, and the meal was just as memorable as the celebration itself. Sharing an amazing meal around one table created such a warm and relaxed atmosphere where everyone could simply enjoy being together.
As the evening continued, Kayla and Preston shared their first dance before we slipped outside for a few sunset portraits. The evening light made for the perfect ending to an already unforgettable day. Rather than rushing through a packed timeline, they spent the rest of the evening laughing, visiting, and simply soaking in every moment with the people they love most.
Kayla and Preston's wedding was proof that you don't need hundreds of guests or an elaborate venue to create an unforgettable wedding day. With meaningful traditions, personal details, incredible food, and the people who matter most, their celebration was everything a wedding should be, authentic, emotional, and completely centered on love.
If you're planning a micro wedding or intimate celebration in Fort Collins or anywhere in Colorado, I'd love to help capture every meaningful moment of your day. Sometimes the smallest weddings create the biggest memories, and Kayla and Preston's beautiful celebration was the perfect reminder of that.
