Red Rocks Trading Post Engagement Session for Mikayla & Ethan

The golden hour at the Red Rocks Trading Post is nothing short of enchanting. Nestled among the stunning rock formations and surrounded by the natural beauty of the landscape, it’s the perfect place for an unforgettable engagement session. As the sun sets behind the rocks, the warm, soft glow of the light creates the most breathtaking backdrops for golden hour. Walking around with Michaela and Ethan was so much fun getting to know them and how absolutely cool they are was wonderful! They both were so open to all the ideas I had and it shows with how cute their photos turned out! I particularly obsessed with her engagement ring! The stone for Mikayla's engagement ring came from Ethan's grandmother's wedding set and I learned that Ethan's wedding band is his grandmothers and grandfathers wedding bands melted together, gahh!!! I'm obsessed with that! It's sentimental yet unique to the couple, which in my opinion is the best of both worlds!

Why Golden Hour?

One of the most magical aspects of a sunset engagement session is the soft, warm light that floods the scene. This is known as the “golden hour,” a period just before the sun dips below the horizon. During this time, the harsh daylight softens into a dreamy, golden glow that enhances the romantic vibe. The light beautifully highlights the couple’s connection while casting long, flattering shadows on the terrain. It's a photographer’s dream!
