Lydia & Alex | A Whimsical Celebration at the Wellshire Event Center, Denver

Some love stories begin with sparks at first sight, but Lydia and Alex’s story started with sparks of a very different kind. They first met in high school debate, where they quickly became rivals, pushing each other to think sharper, speak faster, and argue harder. But after graduation, the rivalry softened into friendship, and then into something even deeper. Six years later, the two self-described introverts (and proud cat parents) said “I do” in the most whimsical and personal celebration at the Wellshire Event Center in Denver, Colorado.

Their wedding was brimming with heartfelt, handmade touches. The groom’s mother poured her love into creating all of the florals and even crafted the wedding cake every petal and detail infused with family care. Lydia’s nephew had the honor of officiating, making the ceremony feel deeply personal and one-of-a-kind.

Of course, Lydia and Alex’s beloved cats, Kiwi and Clementine, couldn’t be left out of the festivities. Guests were treated to signature cocktails named after the furry duo, a playful nod to the couple’s life together and their cozy, cat-filled home.

The day carried an eclectic, whimsical vibe that perfectly reflected who Lydia and Alex are: thoughtful, nerdy, a little quirky, and completely in love. From rival debaters to soulmates, their wedding was a joyful celebration of not just where they’ve been, but the adventures ahead.
